Standardisation

Integrated Process Improvement Systems
not only supply the data capture tools needed to support
process improvement, saving you real world time and money,
we can also supply short term or part time resource to
assist and guide you in your efforts to Standardise.
Standardisation on Best
Practise
relies on a number of factors with the most important
one being the 'desire' to improve .
|
 |
|
The objective of
Standardisation is consistency of output and process
stabilisation, once these have been achieved, and the
current process is fully understood, then planned
improvement can take place.
The combination of process
stabilisation and step change improvement on a repeating
basis is known as Continuous Improvement.
|
 |
|
Standardisation also requires standards.
Such standards must first be determined and then defined, as
in the case of Product Specification and Process Checks, if
they are to be meaningful.
Once
defined standards must be made readily visible and
easily accessible to all who need them, and must be managed
in such a fashion that they remain current. at all times
(this being one of the key advantages of having a single
point electronic knowledge repository .... i.e. changes only
have to be made 'here' and users only need check 'here' to
know that they have the latest information to hand). |
 |
|
Standard/Safe Operating Procedures (SOP's)
are created by employees
(operators, managers, engineers etc as appropriate) agreeing
across shifts that this is the 'best (most efficient)'
and safest way of completing a task and then documenting the same.
Integrating lean tools and techniques
into these systems creates a self supporting thinking
problem solving culture, the basis for world class
excellence and continuous improvement. |
 |
|
Standardising on best practise SOP’s
means that tasks can then be completed in the most efficient and
effective manner possible by
all
employees. New employees can be trained properly and jobs
can be readily covered during holidays and periods of
sickness.
